GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- The four scoring players for the Felican College men's golf team finished within six strokes of each other after two days and 36 holes of competition at the College of Saint Rose Fall Shootout, held Friday and Saturday at Pinehaven Country Club. Felician produced a team score of 331 each day and placed eighth out of 10 teams in attendance.

Led by an 80 from freshman Kevin Berdnik (Clifton, N.J.), the Golden Falcons sat in a tie for seventh place after Round 1. But following its second 331 on Saturday, Felician was passed by four strokes by Saint Anselm College for the No. 7 spot. The Golden Falcons finished 12 shots ahead of the host Golden Knights, who placed ninth.

Freshman Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa.) was Felician's top performer for the weekend, following up his 83 on Friday by matching Berdnik for the team-low round of the tournament with an 80 on Saturday. His 21-over-par total of 163 on the 6,574-yard course tied him for 22nd place out of 53 entrants.

Senior Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J.) was right behind with 83-81-164, although the one extra shot cost him six places in the tight individual standings. Tsouhnikas settled for a tie for 28th place. Berdnik (80-86-166) tied for 32nd, and sophomore Christopher Davis (Rockford, Ill.) (85-84-169) tied for 37th.

Also in the starting line-up was junior Chris Zito (South Hackensack, N.J.), who shot 92-88-180 and placed 48th. Senior Anthony Bizien (Hazlet, N.J.) played as an individual and was 51st (130-134-264).

Concordia (N.Y.) College, a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival of Felician, won the tournament by carding 312-305-617, defeating runner-up University of Massachusetts Lowell by 10 strokes. Concordia junior Sam Deitte was the medalist with 70-74-144 (+2).
