MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Sophomore transfer Christopher Davis (Rockford, Ill.) fired a 36-hole total of 153 (nine over par) and was the top finisher for the Felician College golf team at the Nyack College Fall Classic, held Saturday and Sunday at Town of Wallkill Golf Course.
Davis tied for sixth place out of 33 competitors on the weekend. He was the only Golden Falcon to finish in the top 10, and the only Felician player to break 80 on both days. After carding a 79 on Saturday, Davis completed the tournament with a two-over-par 74 on Sunday, his team's low individual round for the event.
In a tightly packed field, Felician posted a team score of 322-315-637. The Golden Falcons placed fifth out of six teams, but were only 10 strokes behind second-place Nyack, and only one back of No. 4 Nassau Community College. Division-I Manhattan College won the tournament with a 305-312-617.
Senior Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J.) shot 83-76-159 and tied for 14th place. Also in the Felician starting line-up were freshman Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa.)
