LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. -- Felician College seniors Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J.) and Anthony Bizien (Hazlet, N.J.) completed their collegiate careers on Tuesday afternoon as the Golden Falcon men's golf team finished second in a quad-match hosted by Philadelphia University at the ACE Club.
Tsouhnikas, a four-year veteran and the team's No. 1 player for the last two seasons, shot an eight-over-par 80 and finished eighth out of 20 entrants in the individual standings. Bizien, who took up golf while in college and joined the varsity team as a junior, established a personal best by carding a 104. He placed 17th.
Felician's team score of 334 was its 11th-best total out of 20 played in 2012-13. It was good enough to finish 16 strokes ahead of the third-place and host Rams. Baptist Bible College was in fourth place with a 365.
Freshman Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa.) led Felician and tied for 6th place overall with a 79 on the 7,500-yard course. Golden Falcon freshman Kevin Berdnik's (Clifton, N.J.) score of 86 left him in 11th place, and junior Chris Zito (South Hackensack, N.J.) shot 89 and finished 14th.
Alvernia University won the match easily with a +18 team total of 306. Alvernia's five-man line-up took up the top five spots in the individiual results, posting scores of 73-77-78-78-78. The Crusaders' Tim Pici earned medalist honors with his one-over-par 73.
Tsouhnikas led Felician in scoring for 2012-13. He played in all of the team's 20 rounds and averaged 81.8, with a low of 76 on three occasions. Geesey was right behind at 82.5, including the Golden Falcons' two best rounds of the season with a pair of 73s.
