LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Felician College men's golf team tied its second-best team round of 2014-15 while finishing in second place out of five complete teams at the Philadelphia University Fall Classic on Tuesday afternoon at the ACE Club.
Felician shot a 327 on Tuesday, going 39 over par. The Golden Falcons trailed event champion College of Saint Rose by six shots, and finished three ahead of the host and third-place Rams.
Felician junior Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown Area) tied for second place on the individual leaderboard out of 31 entries. He carded a 77 on the 6,702-yard, par-72 course. Medalist Matthew Yun of Nyack College shot 74, and Geesey tied Thomas Lucci of Philadelphia for second.
Golden Falcon sophomore Justin Rasmus (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) fired an 80 and tied for seventh place. Freshman Chris Bekefi (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) also finished in the top half of the field, tying for 15th with an 84.
Freshman Andrew Capone (Denville, N.J./Parsippany Hills) slipped into the final scoring spot for Felician, shooting 86 and tying for 18th place. Junior Kevin Bernik (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) was also in the line-up. His 90 left him in 25th.
Geesey leads Felician through eight rounds this season with a scoring average of 79.3.
