READING, Pa. – The Felician College women's bowling team placed 10th out of 14 teams and went 1-4 in dual matches at the Kutztown University Fall Team Invitational, held on Sunday at Berks Lanes.
The event was the second of two one-day tournaments hosted by Kutztown over the weekend. Combined, Felician went 3-8 in dual matches to begin the 2015-16 campaign.
Sunday's format consisted of five traditional team matches. The Golden Falcons toppled 4,036 pins for an average of 161.4.
No Felician individual was entered into all five matches. Three Golden Falcons started four matches, with sophomore Kaitlyn Stapleton (Washington Township, N.J./Westwood Regional) shooting 699 to lead the Felician contingent and finish 40th overall out of 97 entries.
Sophomore Jessica Zalewski (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) was one of three players to shoot 697 for four games and tie for 43rd place overall. Classmate Dana-Marie Laloo (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) was 55th with 594 for four games. Sophomore Kristin Natoli (Freehold, N.J./Howell) had the highest individual game among the Golden Falcons, a 201 in Match 3. She finished with a 545 for three games and placed 59th.
The Golden Falcons' only dual-match victory came in Match 2, an 887-829 triumph over Medaille College. Felician suffered two losses to Howard University, including a 949-739 position-round loss in Match 5 that locked it in 10th place.
No. 12 nationally-ranked St. Francis (Pa.) University won the event with 4,731 pins (189.2) average, including a 959 in the position round. The host and No. 18-ranked Golden Bears were the only team to go 5-0 in dual matches, but finished fifth overall.
