Osmond, Scanlon Carry Women's Basketball Past Post, 66-47

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore guard Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) led all scorers with a season-high 20 points as the Golden Falcons defeated visiting Post University, 66-47, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (1-6, 1-1 CACC) turned in a strong effort on defense, holding Post to 26-percent shooting from the floor and helping cause 28 Eagle turnovers. Senior guard Eliana Scanlon (New York, N.Y./Oak Hill Academy [Va.]) guided the offense, recording 19 points and matching a season high with nine assists.

Post (0-8, 0-3) recovered from an early 9-3 deficit to take a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Junior guard Jovan Kingwood (Norwalk, Conn./Notre Dame Catholic) scored the Eagles' last nine points of the period. But the Golden Falcons took control of the game with a 16-0 run over the first four minutes of period two. Felician outscored Post, 25-9, for the quarter to bring a 38-25 advantage into intermission.

Felician's edge hovered between 12 and 16 points during the third quarter. The Golden Falcons assumed their largest advantage, 57-38, on an Osmond three-point field goal with 8:19 to play in regulation. The Eagles came as close as 59-47 at the 3:49 mark, but did not score again.

Felician sophomore Treanda Foster (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) totaled nine points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Kingwood paced the Eagles with 19 points in 25 minutes off the bench.
