Women's Bowling Runs Win Streak To Nine

MINEOLA, N.Y. – The Felician University women's bowling team went 5-0 in dual matches at the Molloy College Invitational on Saturday at Sheridan Lanes. Felician, which improved its overall record to 44-30, is riding a school-record nine-match winning streak.

The single-day event consisted of five 5-game baker matches, after which the teams were ranked by total pinfall. The Golden Falcons were the only team to go undefeated, but settled for a season-best second place out of 10 schools. Felician felled 4,384 pins on the day for an average of 175.4. Only nationally-ranked Adelphi University was better, shooting 4,460 for a 178.4 average.

Golden Falcon freshman right-hander Nicole Aumack (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) was named to the all-tournament team. Aumack finished second individually with a Baker frame average of 19.48. It was her second consecutive all-tournament selection.

Felician's best match came in its opener, when, with Jessica Zalewski (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) at anchor, it finished with games of 225 and 203 to shoot 910 in a victory over Kutztown University. The Golden Falcons shot 881 in each of their next two matches to down Saint Peter's University and Adelphi.

Aumack took over at anchor for the final two matches, and the Golden Falcons continued their winning ways, topping New Jersey City University, 847-746, and LIU Post, 865-758.

Junior Heather Androvich (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) posted a 17.83 frame average for the day, while Zalewski turned in a 17.23 figure. Junior Kristin Natoli (Freehold, N.J./Howell), who started all five matches in the leadoff position, averaged 16.83 per Baker frame.

Felician returns to Mineola on Sunday for another one-day event, the Molloy College Baker Challenge.
