Women's Bowling Goes 4-0 On Sunday; Win Streak At 13

MINEOLA, N.Y. – For the second consecutive day on Sunday, the Felician University women's bowling team went undefeated in dual matches and finished second in total pinfall in a one-day event hosted by Molloy College. This time, the Golden Falcons were the runners-up in a field of nine teams at the Molloy Baker Challenge, while going 4-0, at Sheridan Lanes.

Felician extended its school-record winning streak to 13 matches. The Golden Falcons won their final four duals at the Morgan State University James Brown Invitational on Feb. 18 and 19, then went 5-0 in the Molloy Invitational on Saturday. Felician now has an overall record of 48-30, a record for victories for the third-year program.

Sunday's event consisted of five 5-game Baker matches, after which teams were ranked by total pinfall. Due to the odd number of teams, one of Felician's matches was a bye, but the scores still counted toward the team standings. The Golden Falcons were the only team to go undefeated but settled for second place behind No. 16 nationally-ranked Adelphi University. Felician knocked down 4,271 pins for a Baker game average of 170.8, while Adelphi shot 4,509 (180.4 average).

Golden Falcon junior right-hander Jessica Zalewski (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) was named to the all-tournament team. Zalewski finished third individually with a Baker Frame average of 17.65. It was her first all-tournament honor of the season and the second of her career.

Felician's best performance on Sunday came in Match 4 in a 929-654 win over Roberts Wesleyan College. The Golden Falcons also surpassed the 900 mark in Match 2, a 901-828 triumph over the host Lions which included a 236 game. Felician began the day by defeating Daemen College, 788-742, and completed it with an 876-781 victory against Kutztown University.

Freshman Nicole Aumack (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) was the "anchor" for the majority of the day, with junior Heather Androvich (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) assuming that role against Molloy. Juniors Alex Laurenzano (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) and Kristin Natoli (Freehold, N.J./Howell) shared leadoff duties.

Felician concludes the regular season with a trip to the Hawk Flight Invite, hosted by Monmouth University, on March 3-5.
