Storako, Felician In Second After Day 1 Of CACC Golf Tournament

NEWARK, Del. -- Felician University has three players sitting among the top 10 (plus ties) after Day 1 of the two-day Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship Tournament. The event is being hosted by Wilmington (Del.) University on Sunday and Monday at Deefield Country Club.

As a team, Felician enters Monday in second place in the nine-team tournament. The Golden Falcons have never won a CACC title; they finished second in 2015-16. Felician shot 302 as a team on Sunday -- one stroke shy of the school record, and four shots behind tournament leader Dominican (N.Y.) College.

Junior Jake Storako (Laurel Springs, N.J./Highland Regional) tied his own Felician tournament record with a 71, and enters Round 2 in a tie for second place. Freshman Gonzalo Maldonado Felices (Almeria, Spain/Stella Maris) fired a 74 on the par-70 course and is tied for fifth place. After 36 holes, the top five finishers plus ties will be named to the All-Tournament Team. Andrew Geesey is the only Felician player to ever win the CACC individual title, doing so in 2015-16.

Junior Christian Lauchaire (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon) is tied for 10th place with 76.
