Women's Bowling Edges Pair For Third At Molloy Challenge

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Felician University bowling team finished among the top three schools in a tournament for the first time in nearly three years when it placed third in the Molloy College Baker Challenge at Farmingdale Lanes on Sunday.

The Challenge was the second of twin one-day events staged by Molloy over the weekend. The field of seven teams competed in five 5-game Baker matches, with the final standings determined by total pinfall.

Felician toppled 4,570 pins, a per-game average of 182.8. Two teams, Medaille College and the host Lions, posted totals of 4,568 and tied for fourth, two pins behind the Golden Falcons. Felician was 94 pins back of runner-up Caldwell University.

Individually, senior right-hander Nicole Aumack (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) averaged 20.10 per Baker frame, the top figure on the Golden Falcons. Felician junior Jenn Ingulli (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) turned in a frame average of 18.81 and sophomore Natalie Swindell (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) an 18.41 average.

Felician went 1-4 in its dual matches and was 4-5 on the weekend. Sunday's only win came in Match 3, a 957-868 triumph over fellow East Coast Conference (ECC) member Bloomfield College.

No. 20 nationally-ranked Adelphi University was the event's champion, averaging 190.6 on the day.

The last time Felician placed as high as third in a tournament was the 2017 ECC Championship. The Golden Falcons completed that season by finishing either second or third in four of their final five events, including both Molloy one-day tournaments.

Felician (41-15) concludes its regular season with a trip to the Hawk Flight Invite, hosted by Monmouth University in Trenton, N.J., from Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
