LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Felician University men's golf team concluded its 2020-21 regular season by finishing third out of eight teams at the Thomas Jefferson University Invitational on Tuesday at the ACE Club.
Felician will next be in action at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship tournament on Monday, April 19, at White Beeches Golf Course in Haworth, N.J. Dominican (N.Y.) College will host that event.
On Tuesday, Felician's two seniors -- Jake Storako (Laurel Springs, N.J/Highland Regional) and Christian Lauchaire (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon) – finished in the top 10 in the individual standings of their final career regular-season match. On the 6,702-yard par-72 course, Storako was out in 38 and in in 38. His 76 tied for seventh place out of 51 entrants. Lauchaire was one shot behind his teammate at 77 and tied for ninth.
The graduating duo was supported by an 80 from freshman Nathan Sampson (Leeds, England/Crossley Heath School). Sampson ended up in a tie for 15th place. Junior Gonzalo Maldonado Felices (Almeria, Spain/Stella Maris) slipped into the final Golden Falcon scoring spot by shooting 82 and placing 22nd, and freshman Dylan Molloy (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) tied for 30th place by signing for 85.
Felician's team score of 315 was five strokes behind runner-up Chestnut Hill College and 22 back of champion Concordia (N.Y.) College. Concordia's Santiago Luna shot 36-34—70 to earn medalist honors.
The last CACC Championship meet was held in October 2019, with the Golden Falcons finishing sixth out of nine teams. White Beeches will have a no-spectator policy in effect on Monday as a COVID-19 precaution. Fans can follow the conference championship event on www.caccathletics.org.
