SINKING SPRING, PA- Felician Women's Bowling finished in 7th place at the Golden Bear Invitational at Berks Lanes in Sinking Spring, PA on Oct. 22-23, hosted by Kutztown University.
In the two-day event, it started with 5 traditional matches on Saturday and 4 Baker matches followed by a best-of-seven Bakers match, based on seeding, Sunday.
The Golden Falcons won 2 traditional matches over D'Youville University (882-835) and Chestnut Hill College (871-818). The squad helped secure 7th place with 2 Baker wins over Bloomfield College. The first match, Felician toppled the Bears 923-812 and in the best-of-seven, the Golden Falcons won 971-850. As a team, they finished with a 4-6 record (2-3 traditional rounds) and an average of 171.5, tallying 8,577 total pins.
Ashley Ferrara (Beachwood, NJ) led the Golden Falcons and finished in the top-10 (9th place) out of 71 bowlers. The Junior recorded a 193.2 average in the sum of 5 games and 966 total pins.
In the top-20, Madelyn Weston (Hatboro, PA) finished the weekend in 24th with an average of 178.2 and 891 pins and Marie Ferris (West Deptford, NJ) finished in 29th with a 160.2 average and 801 total pins.
Mia Aish (Teaneck, NJ) averaged 153.6 and totaled 768 pins in 32nd place and Sandra Hornor (Brick, NJ) was in 34th with a 147.4 average and 737 pins.
Women's Bowling will be next in action Friday for a 3-day event at the DezyStrong Classic at Coram Country Lanes in Coram, NY, hosted by Adelphi.
