Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Briana Lee (Jersey City, NJ) records another season double-double with 25 points and 18 rebounds in an 81-62 loss to Dominican (N.Y.) University during a Felician Women's Basketball Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference home opener, Wednesday night.
The Golden Falcons found themselves trailing its opponents quick into the first few minutes of the game. Lee forced a Charger turnover to drive down the court for an and-one layup to be sent to the line for a three-point play, 13-12. Dominican went on to regain the lead to end the first quarter, 26-16.
Felician was behind by 15 in the second until Natalie Chappotin (Elizabeth, NJ) and Natalia Lucic (Grindavik, Iceland) combined for 7 points to push the Golden Falcons up on the scoreboard. In the last few seconds of the half, Rosie Arias (Linden, NJ) recorded a pair of free-throws to enter halftime 38-34.
Coming into the third quarter, the Golden Falcons have not led in the game since Lee's three-point play in the first. Courtney Logan (Riverview, FL) bucketed a three and Lee recorded another layup to take the lead, 39-38 with 7-minutes left to play in the third. As the Golden Falcons headed into its final 10-minutes they were back down 58-45.
The Chargers were able to keep the momentum to continue pushing the lead out of reach for the Golden Falcons. In the final stanza, Lee laid in her final points of the night to end the game 81-62.
The Women's Basketball Team drops to 0-1 in the CACC and to 3-3 overall. On December 6, the Golden Falcons will be on the road for another CACC match-up against Caldwell University at 5:30pm.
