NEW CASTLE, DE – Felician Women's Bowling competes in its first match since Nov. 7, 2022 as they traveled to New Castle, DE for the Griffin Baker Classic at the Bowlerama, hosted by Chestnut Hill, on Feb. 4-5.
In the two-day event, there were a total of 20 teams competing in 9 Bakers matches with a championship round after the day 2 seedings. In the first five games on Saturday the Golden Falcons went up against Howard University, Long Island University, Bloomfield College, Wilmington (Del.) University, and Kutztown University. After day one results, Felician finished with an average of 143.4 and a total of 3,585 Baker Pins.
On Sunday, Felician would post a win over Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 760-647, to secure the 18th place spot going into the championship round against Howard University. In the four rounds played, the Golden Falcons would drop to Howard to remain in its final standing of 18th place for the weekend.
The winner of the Griffin Baker Classic was Mercyhurst University as they defeated Delaware State University for the top-spot.
The Golden Falcons will be back in action on Feb 17 for a three-day event of the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitiational in New Castle, DE, hosted by Wilmington (Del.).
