Alysia Arcona Gonzalez '14

Alysia Gonzalez is as versatile and well-rounded a student-athlete as the Felician women’s soccer program has ever produced. Comfortable anywhere on the field, she was as fierce a competitor as she was a technically skilled performer.

Gonzalez was capable of breakout production at any time. She is one of only three Golden Falcon females to notch at least four goals in a game, doing so against Concordia (N.Y.) College on Sept. 6, 2012, and is the only player in program history to author a pair of three-assist contests.

When Gonzalez arrived in Rutherford from Hackettstown High School, the Golden Falcons boasted of a veteran front line. She settled in the central midfield, and earned Second-Team All-Central Collegiate Conference honors as a freshman in 2010.

Sensing a need for more scoring punch as graduation losses accumulated among his strikers, Felician coach Thomas Notte started playing Gonzalez more at forward. As a junior, she enjoyed her best statistical season, finishing third in the CACC with 12 goals and adding three assists. Gonzalez tied a school record that year by scoring in five consecutive games.

She was voted an All-CACC striker, an honor she repeated in 2013. She completed her career with 25 goals, 19 assists, and 69 points. Nearly a decade after her graduation, those totals rank seventh, second, and fourth, respecively, on the Felician all-time lists. She is second among Golden Falcons with eight career game-winning goals, and helped lead her teams to three CACC playoff appearances.

Gonzalez graduated from Felician in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education/English and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.97. She was the first female two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America® in any sport in Golden Falcon history, and was chosen the 2014 Felician Senior Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

Gonzalez is just the second women’s soccer player to be inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame, joining Valerie Esposito.

Gonzalez and her husband, Tim -- also a 2014 Felician graduate -- reside in Belvidere, N.J. They have four children: Nathaniel, 7; Juliana, 5; Caleb, 3; and Isaiah, 1. Gonzalez is a Grade 7 English language arts teacher at Hackettstown Middle School.
