Joe Petosa '13

Joe Petosa book ended his Felician baseball career with major Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference awards. In between, he authored one of the most decorated stays in program history.
A career .334 hitter, Petosa is Felician Baseball’s only two-time

CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America®, and one of only four 4-time all-CACC honorees in program history. He twice garnered First-Team All-East Region honors.

An outfielder from Spotswood High School, Petosa earned a starting role as a freshman on the 2010 Golden Falcons, and hit .333 with 37 runs scored and 28 runs batted in. His 60 hits led the team, and his seven triples topped the CACC. He was voted the league’s Rookie of the Year.

Petosa’s junior season of 2012 ended with the Golden Falcons capturing the CACC regular-season title and reaching the finals of the conference tournament. But early in 2013, he suffered a season-ending injury.
That spring, he completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Felician with a grade-point average of 3.79. He also qualified for, and received, an NCAA medical waiver, giving him athletic eligibility for 2014. Petosa enrolled in Felician’s MBA program and led the baseball team to an historic season.

With Petosa being named the tournament Most Valuable Player, the Golden Falcons won the CACC Championship for the first time. For the season, he batted .370 (third in the CACC) with 12 doubles, four triples, a home run, 29 runs and 34 RBI. He collected several awards - in addition to his All-Region, All-CACC and Academic All-America Honors, he was named CACC Student-Athlete of the Month for April as well as the Felician Senior Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

Petosa left the Golden Falcons as the all-time leader in hits (225, currently third) and triples (19, 2nd) and still holds the career record of 91 walks. His .334 batting average, 121 runs and 115 RBI are all in the top 10 in school annals. He is the eighth former baseball player to be inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame.

Petosa resides in Matawan with his wife, the former Lindsay Petro, and their son, Leo. He finished his MBA at Felician in 2015, and is a tax director at Morgan Stanley.
