The 2000 men’s soccer team set a standard of excellence at Felician College for all of the other athletics programs to follow.
Under the leadership of fourth-year head coach Tony Scorciolla, the Golden Falcons posted a 10-4-1 regular season, including 6-3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. Felician then won three consecutive matches in the CACC Tournament, capped by a 1-0, quadruple-overtime title-game victory at Teikyo Post University, to join the 2000 men’s cross-country team as Felician’s first CACC champions.
Two more wins in the NAIA Region X Tournament extended Felician’s winning streak to seven, a school record that still stands. The season came to an end at 15-7-1 with a loss to Lindsey Wilson College, 2-0, on Nov. 16 in the NAIA National Tournament. The 15 victories remain the Golden Falcon record. Scorciolla was named regional Coach of the Year.
Sophomore defender Kwame Telemaque was named First-Team All-Region and Third-Team All-America. Classmates Gary Hanly and John McGarry joined Telemaque on the All-CACC Team. With much of the squad returning, Felician repeated as CACC and NAIA Region X champions in 2001.
