The 2007 Felician men’s cross-country program entered the University's Athletics Hall of Fame as it neared the 10th anniversary of its crowning achievement.
On Oct. 20, 2007, at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, the Golden Falcons claimed their sixth CACC championship, and fourth consecutively. All seven of Felician’s entrants in the conference championship race earned all-CACC status, the first time that had happened in league history.
Senior Paul Chegwidden won the race with a then-meet record time, and was named CACC Runner of the Year. Freshman Jay Rodgers earned the CACC Rookie of the Year Award following his third-place finish, and John Brennan collected the CACC Coach of the Year Award.
The other Felician runners to earn all-conference honors were sophomore Brad Schepise (6th), senior Mike Burghoffer (7th), senior Brian McDonnell (8th), junior Alex Wright (11th), and freshman Brenden Krewer (12th).
As a prelude to their CACC success, Chegwidden and the Golden Falcons won the Philly Metro Invitational, also held at Belmont Plateau, on Sept. 22. Felician would go on to finish 15th of 26 schools at the NCAA East Regional championship, with Chegwidden placing 38th of 172 individuals.
The 2007 Felician men’s cross-country team was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2016. Chegwidden entered the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame as an
individual the previous year.
