Ciera Clark set a standard of excellence for future generations of offensive players in the Felician softball program, particularly in the area of power hitting.
Clark enjoyed a standout career at Del Oro High School in northern California, and her recruitment paid immediate dividends for the Golden Falcons. As a freshman first baseman in 2012, she batted .343 with seven home runs and a school-record 40 runs batted in. She hit two home runs during a first-round playoff victory over Caldwell University, and helped the Golden Falcons advance within one game of the CACC Tournament’s final day.
Following the 2014 season, Clark became Felician’s softball’s first All-Region performer, earning Second-Team honors from both Daktronics and the NFCA. Her batting average (.445), on base percentage (.543), slugging percentage (.855) and RBI total (43) that year are still program records.
A power hitter who also made consistent contact and excelled situationally, Clark was a three-time all-CACC Honoree. She struck out only 58 times in 593 plate apperances, including only 17 times in 273 trips during her final two seasons. On March 5, 2015, she hit four home runs, two each against Lake Erie College and Notre Dame College, and is the only Golden Falcon to homer four times in a day.
Clark earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Felician in 2015. She owns career school records for doubles (40), runs scored (113), hit batsmen (46), and multi-homerun games (5, tie). She is second in home runs (29), RBI (141), slugging (.646), on-base (.478) and total bases (312). A .371 career hitter (3rd), she collected 179 base hits (4th).
Clark is the fourth softball player to be inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame. She joins Valerie Esposito, Jackie Scarpari, and Nicole Degenhardt.
Clark resides in Torrance, Calif. She is a case manager for the Harbor Regional Center, where she works in partnership with therapists to evaluate and provide services for children age 3 and under who are at risk of disability or developmental delay.
