Nicole Degenhardt was an all-CACC selection in both volleyball (2007) and softball (2010). She is the first volleyball player to enter the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame.
A four-year starter in both sports, Degenhardt was selected all-CACC and CACC All-Tournament as a sophomore setter for the volleyball team in 2007. She was the first player in program history to earn either honor. That season, she helped the Golden Falcons to their first league playoff appearance.
Degenhardt still holds all three Felician records for assists -- in a match (55), season (793) and career (2,535). Her 105 career matches played are fifth in program annals.
A career .310 hitter in softball, Degenhardt set the school record for runs scored in a season with 33 in 2010 (since broken). To date, she ranks among Felician’s top ten players in career runs scored (77), doubles (30) and slugging percentage (.458). She is one of 18 players in Golden Falcon history to surpass 100 career base hits (119, 12th).
As a fifth-year senior in 2010-11, Degenhart successully walked on to the Felican women’s basketball team, despite not having played the sport since high school.
At the time of her induction, Degenhardt was entering her third season as the head softball coach at CACC rival Georgian Court University. From 2011-15, she coached basketball and softball at the College of Saint Elizabeth. At age 23, she was named the 2011-12 North Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
Degenhardt enrolled at Felician after a successful three-sport career at Secaucus High School. She earned a B.S. in mathematics education in 2011. She resides in Secaucus with her wife, Jillian Kelly.
