Valerie Esposito - 2015

Valerie Esposito Early in the history of Felician women’s athletics, Golden Falcon coaches recruited several multi-sport athletes to fill their rosters. Val Esposito stood out from her peers for dual-sport proficiency, earning all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors in both soccer and softball.

A local product, Esposito hails from Clifton, N.J. and came to Felician from St. Mary High School of Rutherford. Her Golden Falcon career spanned from 1999 to 2003.

Esposito played in an era of unparalleled success for the women’s soccer team. The Golden Falcons went 42-30-4 during her career, still the most victories for the program in any four-year stretch.

She first earned All-CACC honors as a sophomore in 2000. From her striker position, she registered eight goals and nine assists in 19 games, helping Felician reach the CACC semifinals for the second consecutive season.

She was named a tri-captain the next season, and led the Golden Falcons to the greatest year in program history. Felician went 14-3-2 overall, won the CACC regular-season championship with an 8-0-2 league mark, and reached the finals of the conference tournament for the first time. The Golden Falcons made their only NAIA Regional appearance that year as well. Esposito repeated as an all-CACC honoree, putting up seven goals and seven assists. Felician reached the CACC finals again in her senior season.

Esposito sits third on Felician’s career scoring list with 71 points (26 goals, 19 assists).

While patrolling center field in softball, Esposito was a .307 career hitter. She helped Felician to a 26-12 record as a junior, then batted .377 as a senior in 2003 and was named to the all-conference team.

Esposito graduated from Felician in 2003 with a BS in accounting. She served as a Golden Falcon assistant coach in both sports for the next three years.

Esposito is a senior consultant at Sullivan, Cotter, and Associates in Parsippany.
