ANDRE RANDOLPH, 2003, 47th Round, New York Yankees
An original Golden Falcon in 2000, Andre Randolph was one of Felician's first four-year baseball players and was among the initial members of the school's 100-hit club. A native of Franklin Lakes, N.J., Randolph went on to play one season each with the Class-A Staten Island Yankees and the independent Newark Bears. He is the son of former major-league player and manager Willie Randolph. |
JERRY VASTO, 2014, 24th Round, Colorado Rockies
A left-handed pitcher, Vasto improved each season as a Golden Falcon before leaving behind one year of eligibility to sign with the Rockies. He capped his collegiate career by being named the CACC Pitcher of the Year, consensus First Team All-Region, and to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Honorable Mention All-America Team in 2014. With a 6-3 record, 1.84 ERA and school-record 79 strikeouts, he helped lead the Golden Falcons to their first CACC championship. Vasto departed Felician as its all-time leader in strikeouts per nine innings. Vasto made his Major-League debut with Colorado on June 10, 2018. |
SCOTT DE JONG, 2014, 32nd Round, Los Angeles Dodgers
De Jong and Vasto were chosen hours apart on June 7, 2014. A power-hitting first-baseman, De Jong took a "redshirt" season at the University of Connecticut in 2012 before playing two years for the Golden Falcons and becoming draft-eligible. In Felician's CACC championship season of 2014, he set school wood-bat era records of seven home runs, 51 RBI and a .378 batting average. De Jong was named first-team All-CACC, first-team All-Region, and the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II/III Player of the Year. |
MATT BLANDINO, 2016, 19th Round, Cincinnati Reds
Blandino was drafted by the Reds in the 33rd round out of high school in 2013, but elected to attend Division-I Central Connecticut State University. After two years at CCSU, the right-handed pitcher transferred to Felician for his first draft-eligible season and posted one of the best years in Golden Falcon history. He helped Felician to its second CACC title by going 9-4 with a 2.32 ERA while setting single-season school records for starts (14), innings (100 2/3) and strikeouts (97). He allowed just 79 hits and 16 walks. Blandino was named the CACC Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-Region. |
BRENNAN PRICE, 2016, 29th Round, Milwaukee Brewers
Price, a lefty-swinging designated hitter and first-baseman, was drafted on his potential as a right-handed pitcher, but did not come to terms with the Brewers. The 6-foot-9, 265-pounder returned to Felician for his senior campaign and enjoyed his best season on the mound, going 3-0 with a 2.47 ERA and a .184 opponent batting average in 13 games (nine starts) in 2017. He gave up just 28 hits in 43 2/3 innings, striking out 32 batters. At the plate, Price became Felician's career leader in RBI (156). He is the first three-time all-region player in Golden Falcon baseball history, and the third four-time All-CACC selection. His 196 hits were seventh on Felician's career list at the time of his graduation. In July 2017, Price signed a free-agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. |
L.T. STRUBLE, 2019, 29th Round, New York Mets
Struble is one of the fastest players to ever wear a Felician uniform. He played mostly shortstop during his two seasons as a Golden Falcon, but on draft day, the Mets announced him as a center fielder. Struble came to Felician after two NJCAA All-America seasons at Camden County College and an inactive (injury) 2017 campaign at Division-I Coastal Carolina University. In 108 Felician games, Struble recorded 145 hits, 75 walks, 126 runs scored and 70 stolen bases, and was named All-Region after both 2018 and 2019. |
