Danielle "DJ" Johnston


Danielle Johnston joined Professional Physical Therapy in 2016, and became the head athletic trainer at Felician University in August 2021. 

Johnston began her professional career as a graduate assistant at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga. During that time, she was the head athletic trainer for Hardaway High School.

Upon receiving a master's degree in physical education from the University of North Georgia, Johnston was hired by Professional Physical Therapy as an outreach ATC on Long Island. After one year she transferred with the company to New Jersey, and was the head athletic trainer at Wood-Ridge High School from 2017-2021.

Johnston is a 2013 graduate of Dominican (N.Y.) College, earning a bachelor's degree in athletic training. She was a four-year member of the Chargers' women's volleyball team, and was a defensive specialist on Dominican's 2012 CACC Championship squad. She and her husband, Brendan Bonacum, live in Bloomfield, with their sons, Chase and A.J.
