David Nichols serves as the Recruiting Coordinator for the Felician University men’s basketball program. A Newark native with deep community ties, Nichols brings proven leadership, elite recruiting ability, and a strong player-development background to the Golden Falcons.
As Felician’s Recruiting Coordinator, Nichols plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and securing high-level talent that aligns with the program’s culture and competitive vision. His relationship-driven approach and extensive network have significantly expanded Felician’s recruiting reach.
Before joining Felician, Nichols spent four impactful years at Arts High School, serving as Associate Head Coach under Prophet Kates, where he helped guide the program to a city, division, and state sectional championship and sent numerous athletes to scholarship level basketball. He also spent two years with Jersey Force, where he coached multiple Division I scholarship basketball players and contributed to the growth of championship-caliber teams.
Throughout his coaching career, Nichols has developed and mentored several athletes who went on to earn Division I & II scholarships, and he has also won a share of Hoop Group Championships, further solidifying his reputation as a developer of high-level talent.
Nichols later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Felician University with a 3.5 GPA. Outside of coaching, he remains committed to community service, youth mentorship, and giving back to Newark.
