Rachel Vallarelli

Coach Vallarelli is a 2011 graduate of the School of the Holy Child in Rye, New York. She went on to attend the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she earned a B.S. in Sports Management from the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management in 2015. In 2023, she completed her Master's in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville University. Vallarelli currently resides in Hartsdale, NY, with her dog, Tulip.

During her time at UMass, Vallarelli was the starting goalie for three seasons, amassing 48 victories and a goals-against average (GAA) of 6.77, both of which rank second in program history. Her career GAA is eighth in NCAA history, and her 2015 GAA of 5.77 is 10th in NCAA history. That same year, she led the nation in save percentage (.523) and was a two-time NCAA GAA Runner-Up (6.26 in 2014 and 5.77 in 2015). While in goal, Vallarelli helped UMass win four consecutive Atlantic 10 championships, with an undefeated conference record and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including two first-round wins. She was also named Atlantic 10 Defender of the Week seven times and earned the 2015 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Since 2015, Vallarelli has coached both men’s and women’s lacrosse at the NCAA level, with stints at Wagner College, Villanova University, Fresno State, Purchase College, Manhattanville College, and Bard College. She also served as the head coach for Greenwich High School in 2019. Currently, she is excited to add Felician University to her list of coaching stops, focusing on youth lacrosse development to ensure the sport is accessible to all. Vallarelli has been the 91 Tri-State Girls' Club Lacrosse Director since 2019 and is also the Head Defensive and Goalie Coach for the 91 Warhogs Box Lacrosse Teams. Additionally, she works as a goalie coach for the 91 National program.
