RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman middle Tonia Ford (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) registered season highs of seven kills and four blocks, but the Golden Falcons could not get past visiting Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon. Chestnut Hill earned a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 25-9) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional victory at Job Gymnasium.
Freshman Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany/KGSE) led Felician (0-22, 0-15) with 13 kills and added nine digs and two service aces. Sophomore Alexa Scrivanich (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) had five kills and matched a career-best with six blocks.
After the Golden Falcons erased a 1-0 deficit with their Set 2 victory, the Griffins (11-14, 6-7) established control. CHC got out to an 11-3 lead in the third set, eventually posting a .316 attack percentage for the set. The visitors bettered themselves in Set 4, jumping out to a 14-4 advantage and hitting .409 to put the match away.
For the day, CHC out-hit Felician, .260-.060. Sophomore Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) paced the Griffins with 14 kills and 14 digs.
