Box Score 2 DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Felician College lost both ends of a non-conference women's volleyball tri-match hosted by Mercy College on Saturday afternoon at Mercy Gymnasium. Felician (0-10) fell in three sets to the host Mavericks before dropping a 3-0 decision to Saint Anselm College.
In the day's opening match, the Golden Falcons lost a tight 25-21, 25-2, 25-17 affair. The three sets combined to see 21 ties and 14 lead changes. Senior Megan Delamater (Paramus, NJ) led Felician with 15 assists, four service aces and two blocks, and freshman Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany) paced the offense with six kills. Freshman Brenna White (Gardnerville, NV) posted match highs of 16 kills and 11 digs for Mercy.
The Mavericks (4-4), who fell to Saint Anselm in five sets in the final match of the event, are coached by former Felician head man Alan Clements.
Following the loss, Felician had to return right back to the court to take on the Hawks. With its defense holding the Golden Falcons to a negative attack percentage, Saint Anselm (4-6) went on to a 25-12, 26-24, 25-9 victory. The Hawks used 15 players in the match, and received 11 kills, seven digs and two blocks from senior Charlotte Tencza (Springfield, MA).
Junior Jenna Matesic (Paramus, NJ) posted a season-high eight kills and nine digs for Felician. Senior Ashlee DiSalvo (Batavia, NY) led all players in the match with 11 digs.
