FAIRMONT, W. Va. -- The Felician College women's volleyball team began its season with a pair of losses on Friday during the Falcon Fest Tournament hosted by Fairmont State University. Felician fell to the host Fighting Falcons, 3-0, in its morning match, and later lost, 3-0 to Davis & Elkins College.

The Golden Falcons were defeated by Fairmont State by a 25-17, 25-14, 25-13 tally. Freshman Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany) had eight kills and six digs and junior Jenna Matesic (Paramus, NJ) added six kills. Jessica Seevers had 34 assists for FSU and led the hosts to a .374 attack percentage.

Polscher topped Felician with six kills in a 25-12, 25-15, 25-19 loss to Davis & Elkins. A full boxscore will be made available on Saturday.

Felician concludes play in the tournament with two more matches on Saturday.
