Box Score WATERBURY, Conn. – Despite a career-high 26 digs from sophomore Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany), the Felician College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-14) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Post University on Friday night at the Drubner Center.
The three sets followed a similar pattern, with the teams playing tightly early before Post (8-14, 7-7 CACC) pulled away. In Set 1, the Eagles turned a 7-6 deficit into a 19-9 lead en route to victory. Similarly, Felician led, 4-1, in Set 2 before the hosts roared back for a 12-6 advantage. Post never led by fewer than four points for the rest of the set.
In Set 3, Post clung to a 14-13 lead, then scored nine consecutive points. After the Golden Falcons finally produced a side-out (23-14), the Eagles ended the match with back-to-back kills from Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) and Kelli Reynolds (Stamford, Conn).
Making her first collegiate appearance at libero, Polscher turned in the first 20+ dig match of her career. The 26 digs are the most by a Felician player this season.
Freshman Olivia Emerson (Sparks, Nev.) topped the Golden Falcons with eight kills and three blocks. Senior Jenna Matesic (Paramus, N.J.) added six kills and 10 digs.
Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) paced the Eagles with 13 kills, 22 digs and three aces. Post earned its second victory this season over Felician.
