LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. -- In a wide open affair which saw the teams combine for 36 shot attempts, Chesntut Hill College picked up the only goal to earn a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.

Felician (4-6-1, 3-4-1 CACC), winless in its last four CACC games, sits in seventh place in the 13-team conference with 10 points. The Golden Falcons have four league contests remaining. The top eight teams at season's end qualify for the CACC Tournament.

Felician had the best early scoring opportunity on Saturday. A fourth-minute shot by senior Emily Gleason (East Hanover, N.J.) forced a corner kick. After Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, N.J.) took the kick, the ball found its way back to her. Arcona put a shot on goal, but it was cleared by a Chestnut Hill defender.

The Griffins (5-7, 5-2) then went on the offensive, and their efforts paid off in the 17th minute. Lauren Nolte's (Wilmington, Del.) header was blocked by the Felician defense, but the ball caromed right to CHC senior Alexandria Alizzo (Laurel Springs, N.J.), who finished 16:01 into the contest.

Chestnut Hill ran up a 12-7 shot advantage for the first half and 23-13 for the game. CACC scoring leaders Carly DiGiovanni (Seaville, N.J.) (11g 3a) of Chestnut Hill and Felician's Arcona (11g 2a) were both kept off the scoreboard.

Felician goalkeeper Allie Couzo (Sayreville, N.J.) kept her team in the game with eight saves, and teammate Jordan Farley (Brick, N.J.) topped the offense with three shots.  Jessica Veazey (Middletown, Del.) earned the shutout with four saves for the Griffins.
