Box Score CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell College earned its fifth consecutive victory with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 26-24) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball triumph over visiting Felician College on Tuesday night at the Newman Center. Caldwell (14-9, 7-2 CACC) has won the last two CACC championships.
Felician freshman opposite Olivia Emerson (Sparks, Nev.) led all players on the night with 11 kills, but the Cougars were able to score in a variety of ways. In addition to its .300 team attack percentage, Caldwell owned advantages of 6-1 in blocking and 10-1 in service aces.
The Cougars never trailed in the first two sets, opening up leads of 8-2 in the opener and 12-4 in Set 2. Felician did come back from a 16-10 Set 3 deficit to tie things at 23-23, but Caldwell saved a set point before earning the victory on two Susan McDonough (Saline, Mich.) kills and an ace from Lisa Roth (Gilbert, Ariz.).
McDonough, the 2011 CACC Player of the Year, posted 10 kills and 10 digs, and Roth finished with 25 assists, nine digs and three aces. Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz.) had 19 assists for the Golden Falcons (1-15, 1-9).
