RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College women's volleyball team jumped out to an early lead before suffering a 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21) loss to visiting Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium. The match was Felician's 2012 home opener, and the first CACC contest of the season for both schools.

Sophomore Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany/KGS Elmshorn) and freshman Susan McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla/N. Fort Myers) each posted double-doubles for Felician (0-6, 0-1). Polscher led the Golden Falcons with 14 kills and added 12 digs, while McKeever accumulated 16 assists and 10 digs.

For the first time this season, Felician won the opening set of a match. The Warriors (3-1, 1-0) stormed back for a 25-15 Set 2 victory, then won the key points late in Set 3. In the fourth set, the Golden Falcons opened up an early 9-4 edge, but Nyack pulled ahead, 15-11, and went on to close out the match.

Freshman Kayla Gallagher (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush) hit .320 with 10 kills for Felician, and classmate Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz./Perry) added 16 assists and eight digs.

The Warriors received a match-high 15 kills and nine digs from Moana Masaniai (Waipahu, Hawaii/Kamehameha). Nyack's Brianna Kane (Bethany, Conn./Westwoods Christian) turned in eight kills, 19 assists and 18 digs.
