Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Caldwell University recovered from a seven-point first-set deficit en route to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-18) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over host Felician College on Tuesday night at Job Gymnasium. The win left Caldwell (13-7, 8-2 CACC) in sole possession of first place in the CACC North Division.
Caldwell freshman outside Narae Wadsworth (Reno, Nev./Wooster) hit .481 on the night and led all plaers with 15 kills. Classmate Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha) finished with 12 kills and five digs. Senior middle Tonia Ford (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) paced Felician (5-10, 3-8) with six kills and four blocks.
The Golden Falcons jumped out to a 13-7 Set 1 lead, only to see Caldwell tally 19 of the final 22 points. The hosts never led again in the match. The Cougars went out ahead, 10-3 and 22-9, on their way to capturing Set 2. Felician closed a 9-3 third-set deficit to 11-7 before seeing Caldwell extend its edge to 17-9. Auyong put down a pair of kills as the visitors won five of the match's last six points.
Caldwell hit .228 on the night and held the Golden Falcons to a team attack percentage of .017. Senior Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, Calif./St. Monica Catholic) hit .533 with nine kills, 15 assists and seven digs for the Cougars, while senior libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) led the Caldwell defense with 26 digs.
Senior Emma Reijonen (Joensuu, Finland/Lyseo Joensuun) posted six kills and freshman Sally Taylor (San Diego, Calif./SDCE) turned in four kills, 13 digs and three blocks for Felician, which faces Georgian Court University and Saint Anselm College in a tri-match on Saturday in Lakewood, N.J.
