LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Felician College women's volleyball team lost both ends of its tri-match hosted by Georgian Court University on Saturday at the GCU Wellness Center. In its morning match, Felician dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tilt to the host Lions, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-15). The Golden Falcons then fell to Saint Anselm College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14) in non-league action on Saturday afternoon.

Georgian Court out-hit Felician, .321 to .162, in the Lions' CACC win early on Saturday. GCU sophomore setter Kelsey Oliver (Vancouver, Wash.) ran the offense to the tune of 30 assists and two aces. Her favorite target was senior opposite Tatiana Rodriguez (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) who hit .786 with 11 kills and no errors in 14 atempts.

Felician (5-12, 3-9 CACC) dropped Set 2 despite hitting .429 for the set, but was held under a .100 clip in both the first and third sets. Freshman outside Sally Taylor (San Diego, Calif.) led the Golden Falcons with eight kills and nine digs. Senior middle Emma Reijonen (Joensuu, Finland) added six kills.

Annabelle Barinas (Newark, N.J.) produced eight kills and Jhoan Agosto Rivera (Carolina, Puerto Rico) added seven for the Lions.

Felician's second match of the day was more defensive-minded. The Golden Falcons out-dug Saint Anselm, 63-44, but the Hawks owned a 6.0-3.5 advantage in blocks en route to holding Felician to a .045 attack percentage.

Freshman outside Kathryn Teets (Dix Hills, N.Y.) led Saint Anselm with 13 kills and four aces. Senior middle Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) put down eight kills, and senior setter Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) turned in 33 assists and eight digs.

Taylor turned in another strong two-way effort for the Golden Falcons with seven kills and 16 digs, both team highs. Senior middle Tonia Ford (Bayonne, N.J.) amassed six kills and three blocks, and junior setter Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla.) had 18 assists and 14 digs.

In the day's final match, the Hawks (10-10) defeated Georgian Court (13-11, 9-3) in five sets.
