Box Score  RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Bloomfield College hit .223 and had 10 service aces in its 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-14) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over host Felician College on Wednesday night at Job Gymnasium. Bloomfield (12-10, 8-4 CACC) earned a sweep of its two-match season series with the Golden Falcons.
Sophomore setter Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif./Alta Loma) paced the Bears with three kills, 28 assists and 11 digs. Her favorite target was junior outside Diannmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico/CIEM Private) who put down nine kills and added five digs and four aces.
Senior middle Emma Reijonen (Joensuu, Finland/Lyseo Joensuun) paced Felician (5-13, 3-10) with nine kills and seven digs. Golden Falcon freshman opposite Kristen Keller (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) added six kills and five digs.
The first set was tied on seven occasions, the last time at 15-15, before Bloomfield nudged ahead by three points. The Golden Falcons got back to within 21-20, but a Rivera kill and a Felician error allowed the Bears to remain in the lead and pull out the victory.
Helped by three blocks and two aces, Bloomfield shot out to a 9-1 Set 2 lead, and the hosts never recovered. Felician got as close as 12-6, but the Bears answered back for a 20-9 lead before tallying five of the set's final six points.
Three Rivera aces helped spur the visitors to another 9-1 edge in the third set. The Golden Falcons had an answer this time, however, fighting back to an 11-9 deficit helped by two aces from Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz./Perry). But Bloomfield fought its way back to a 17-12 lead before putting together a 7-0 run and eventually siding out Felician for the victory.
Bloomfield received 23 digs and three assists from freshman libero Samantha Rios (Juncos, Puerto Rico/Jose Collazo Colon). Junior setter Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla./North Fort Myers) amassed 20 assists and six digs for the Golden Falcons.
