Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Concordia (N.Y.) College earned a 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-16) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over visiting Felician College on Wednesday night at the Meyer Athletic Center. Concordia salvaged a split of the two-match season series between the schools.
Concordia freshman Katharina Birgmeir (Munich, Germany) led all players with eight kills and added three blocks and two service aces. Freshman Sally Taylor (San Diego, Calif.) amassed seven kills and five digs for Felician.
The Clippers (4-13, 3-12 CACC) led 10-3 and 20-9 in their Set 1 victory. Felician never led in the second set, trailing, 9-8, before Concordia tallied eight consecutive points. The hosts thwarted hopes of a Golden Falcon comeback by jumping out to a 12-4 edge in Set 3. The Clippers held Felician (5-16, 3-13) to a negative attack percentage in all three sets.
Freshman setter Jenny Martin (Simi Valley, Calif.) guided the Concordia offense with 23 assists, adding eight digs and two aces. Sydney Darden (Marietta, Ga.) totaled seven kills and six digs for the Clippers.
Felicain junior Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz.) accumulated six digs and three assists from her libero position.
