PHILADELPHIA – Despite 10 kills and a season-high 20 digs from freshman outside hitter Sally Taylor (San Diego, Calif.), the Felician College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-8) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon at Sorgenti Arena.

Felician (5-6, 3-4 CACC) had trouble containing Chestnut Hill outside Rachel Biro (Nazareth, Pa.). The Griffins' junior co-captain hit .309 with a match-high 23 kills while adding seven digs and five blocks. 

The Golden Falcons never led in the first set, as CHC (10-8, 5-2) jumped out to a 9-3 lead and held on. Set 2 was tied, 9-9, before the hosts rolled off five consecutive points, including two kills from Kaitlyn Shock (Allentown, Pa.), to gain separation.

Set 3 featured 11 ties and six lead changes and saw Felician recover from a 21-16 deficit. Freshman Amanda Zielinski (Belleville, N.J.) was on serve as the Golden Falcons tallied eight consecutive points. CHC pulled to within 24-23 before a Taylor kill gave Felician the set and extended the match.

Any thought the Golden Falcons had of a comeback were dashed by the middle of Set 4. After a block by Zielinski and Sam Sielski (Hillside, N.J.) made the score 8-7 in favor of the Griffins, CHC scored 17 of the match's final 18 points.

Chestnut Hill sophomore setter Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) finished with 42 assists and 11 digs in guiding her offense to a .196 team attack percentage. Sophomore Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) totaled 10 kills, 19 digs and three aces, and sophomore libero Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) turned in 32 digs and six assists for the Griffins.

Junior Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz.) paced the Felician defense with 22 digs and Zielinski finished with 16. Emma Reijonen (Joensuu, Finland) recorded eight kills and two blocks for the Golden Falcons.
