Box Score LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Pace University women's soccer team scored four goals in a seven-minute stretch mid-way through the first half and went on to an 8-0 non-conference victory over host Felician College on Thursday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
Pace (1-2) received a natural hat trick from senior midfielder Geena Kooner (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) to open the scoring. Kooner first dented the scoreboard 18 minutes, 42 seconds into the match, and proceeded to tally three times in a span of 4:53. Setter sophomore Alyssa Zeoli (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) tacked on a score in the 26th minute, and teammate Jillian Ferro (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick) converted a free kick with 5:26 showing on the first-half clock for a 5-0 Pace halftime advantage.
Zeoli finished with two scores and Ferro a goal and an assist for the visitors. Pace racked up a 33-2 shot advantage for the night, including a game-high seven from Nicole Blair (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip). Three Setter goalkeepers split the shutout, with starter Lauren DeSousa (Taunton, Mass./Coyle and Cassidy) making one first-half save for the victory.
Senior Samantha Petosa (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) and freshman Dina Ingenito (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) got off the Golden Falcon shots. Felician keepers Julia Sheridan (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Community) and Bjonda Ademi (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) combined for 13 saves.
Felician (1-1-1) begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play when it hosts Wilmington (Del.) University on Saturday at 7 p.m.
