Box Score CALDWELL, N.J. – Senior Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla.) led Felician College with eight kills from her setter position in the Golden Falcons' 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-14) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball loss to host Caldwell University on Tuesday night at the George R. Newman Center.
McKeever posted seven digs, and also topped Felician (4-16, 2-7 CACC) with 15 assists and two blocks. Classmate Pati Giemza (Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland) came off the bench to contribute 17 digs, four assists and two service aces for the Golden Falcons.
Caldwell (14-8, 6-3) never trailed in Set 1, holding Felician to a negative attack percentage in its 25-18 victory. The match turned on a second set that featured 12 ties and eight lead changes. The Golden Falcons recovered from a 23-20 deficit to take a 24-23 lead. A Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) kill saved the set point for Caldwell, and a kill by McKeever two points later did the same for Felician. But following a Felician attack error, Cougar sophomore Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) put down a kill to clinch the set for the hosts.
Caldwell rode the momentum, moving out to leads of 9-4 and 20-9 in Set 3. The Cougars hit .389 for the set en route to wrapping up the victory.
Auyong and Janssen finished with 12 kills apiece for Caldwell. Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) put down six kills for the Golden Falcons. Fellow freshman Amanda Coccia (Rahway, N.J.) accumulated 13 digs and three assists.
