WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University recorded 13 blocks in its 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-16) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over visiting Felician College on Tuesday night at the Drubner Center.

Post was the 2014 CACC champion. With the victory, the Eagles (18-8, 11-3 CACC) took over sole possession of first place in the CACC North Division. Felician, meanwhile, remained one-half game out of fourth place, and with it, the final playoff spot, in the division. Post swept its 2015 season series from Felician.

Sophomore middle blocker Shannon Hood (East Orange, N.J.) led the Golden Falcons (5-20, 3-10) with seven kills. Felician freshman outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) amassed six kills and 17 digs.

Post put together a run of 12 consecutive points to extend an 8-4 lead and take control of Set 1. Eagle senior Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had three kills and a block in the spurt.

Set 2 was tied at every stage from 1-1 through 7-7 before the hosts pulled away for a 15-10 lead. The Golden Falcons came as close as 17-14 before three consecutive Eagle kills helped Post gain further separation and eventually wrap up the set.

In the third set, Felician recovered from an 8-4 deficit to even things at 9-9, but Post won six of the next seven rallies and never looked back. A Hood kill made the score 22-16 in favor of the Eagles, but two Golden Falcon errors sandwiched a blck by Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) and ended the match.

Post held the Golden Falcons to a negative attack percentage for the night, and owned edges of 63-55 in digs and 13-4 in blocks. Griffin finished with 13 kills and three blocks and sister Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) tallied eight kills, 16 digs and three blocks for the Eagles.

Senior setter Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla.) accumulated five kills, 15 assists and 12 digs for the Golden Falcons, who host Bloomfield College on Thursday.
