Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Felician College did not allow a shot attempt in its 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over visiting Dominican (N.Y.) College on Wednesday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
Sophomore midfielder Danielle Stoll (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) registered two goals and an assist for Felician (5-4, 5-2 CACC). Senior midfielder Marissa Nieves (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) and sophomore forward Amanda Nowak (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) turned in a goal and an assist apiece for the Golden Falcons.
But it was the youthful Felician defense that stole she show statistically. Led by 90-minute performances from junior Mikaylah Davies (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes), sophomore Dina Ingenito (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) and freshman Sami Lederle (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) on the back line, the Golden Falcons earned advantages of 13-0 in shots and 8-0 in corner kicks. 2014 All-CACC selection Carly Brantner (Shrewsbury, N.J./Eastern Christian) started and played 60 minutes at center back before being spelled by fellow junior Stephanie Hesse (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton).
Nieves opened the scoring four minutes, 21 seconds, into the contest when her corner kick was batted by Dominican freshman goalkeeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas/Goose Creek) back toward her on the left side. Nieves was the first player to the loose ball and launched a shot diagonally across the 18-yard box and inside the right goalpost.
Novak was able to get a low shot by Contreras in the 18th minute. After halftime, Stoll put the game away for the Golden Falcons by scoring twice in a span of 75 seconds in the early stages of period two.
Contreras recorded four saves in 45 minutes of work for the Chargers (0-8, 0-6).
