RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Philadelphia University used a balanced offense and strong service game to earn a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-8) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over host Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

Philadelphia (16-4, 9-1 CACC) is the first-place team in the CACC South Division.

Sophomore opposite hitter Carmen Shaw (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) led Felician (0-20, 0-11) with eight kills.

The Rams led, 14-11, in the opening set, then allowed Felician to score only one more point on serve for the balance of the set. Philadelphia hit .500 with 17 kills in its 25-15 win.

The Rams jumped out to second-set leads of 9-3 and 15-7. After the Golden Falcons pulled to within 18-14, Philadelphia captured the final seven rallies of the set, including three service aces by Emily Pilla (Nesquehoning, Pa./Marian Catholic).

Ahead 13-6 in Set 3, the visitors used a run of 10 consecutive points to pull away for good and lock up the match, their fourth consecutive victory.

The Rams hit .372 for the day, and accumulated 16 aces against just five service errors. Sophomore Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa./Berks Catholic) hit .444 with 10 kills and 10 digs and freshman Amber Johnson (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) hit .467 with nine kills for Philadelphia.

Felician received six kills, seven digs and three blocks from sophomore outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif./Southwest). Freshman setter Charlotte Greek (Menifee, Calif./Murrieta Mesa) totaled 15 assists and seven digs, and Golden Falcon senior Sam Sielski (Hillside, N.J./Mother Seton) put down a career-high three blocks.

The Golden Falcons are home again on Wednesday to take on Bloomfield College at 7 p.m. in Rutherford.
