Geesey Completes Competition At NCAA Golf Regional

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – Felician University senior Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown Area), an individual qualifier from the East Region, shot a 17-over-par 233 for three rounds at the 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Atlantic/East Super Regional Championship, hosted by Le Moyne College Monday through Wednesday at Timber Banks Golf Club.

Geesey, who qualified for the regional championship for the first time, tied for 44th place out of 108 entrants. He is the second regional qualifier in the 11-year history of Felician golf. Joe Leardo tied for 50th in 2010 and tied for 28th in 2011.

Geesey's best round of the tournament came on Monday, when he fired a 76 on the 6,739-yard, par-72 course. He was tied for 18th place after Day 1 of competition. He followed up with a 78 on Tuesday, after which he was tied for 36th, and completed the even with a 79 on Wednesday.

Geesey, the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference individual champion, finished the 2015-16 season with a scoring average of 77.3, a school record. His career average of 79.7 is second only to Leardo in Felician annals.
