Box Score PHILADELPHIA – Despite 10 kills and nine digs from sophomore outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.), the Felician University women's volleyball team lost, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-18) to host Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Tuesday night at Sorgenti Arena. The match was the 2016 CACC opener for both schools.
The night's first set was tied on eight occasions in the early-going, the last time at 12-12 before Chestnut Hill (3-6, 1-0 CACC) was able to pull away for a 21-15 lead. The Griffins carried the momentum into Set 2, jumping out to leads of 10-5 and 20-12.
CHC turned a 7-7 tie into a 17-10 Set 3 advantage. Felician (0-6, 0-1) came back to as close as 21-18, but the hosts won the last four rallies. Griffin senior Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) ended the match with consecutive service aces.
Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) posted 10 kills and Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) added nine kills and eight digs for Chestnut Hill, which produced 11 service aces.
Felician received eight kills and 12 digs from freshman Lauren Mack (Valparaiso, Ind.). Amanda Coccia (Rahway, N.J.) paced the Golden Falcon defense with 14 digs.
