Box Score WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University committed just three attack errors, putting up a hitting percentage of .493 in its 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-7) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball victory over visiting Felician University on Wednesday night at the Drubner Center.
Post (9-2, 3-0 CACC) tied a program record with its ninth consecutive victory. The Eagles are the two-time defending CACC champions.
Sophomore outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) turned in a team-high six kills and added six digs for Felician (0-9, 0-4).
Post never trailed in either of the first two sets. The hosts jumped on top 6-0, 11-2, and 15-5 in cruising to their first-set triumph. Thirteen of the Eagles' points came off the serve of senior Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.), including three aces. Felician closed a 5-0 second-set deficit to 7-5, but Post won the next four rallies and pulled away.
With the Golden Falcons ahead, 3-1, in Set 3, Post won five consecutive points and 12 of the next 13. Felician was unable to score on serve again for the rest of the match, with consecutive Eagle blocks securing the victory.
Freshman Lauren Mack (Valparaiso, Ind.) put down five kills for Felician, and sophomore Amanda Coccia (Rahway, N.J.) led the defense with 13 digs. Post's Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) (14 digs) and Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) topped all players with 10 kills each.
