PHILADELPHIA – The Felician University women's volleyball team was defeated by host Holy Family University, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-19) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday evening at the Campus Center Gymnasium.

Sophomore Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) and freshman Kaleysa Vodrazka (Bayonne, N.J.) each had five kills for Felician (0-10, 0-5 CACC). Calero added seven digs and three blocks.

The Golden Falcons fell behind, 11-5 and 19-8 in the opening set. The visitors pulled to within 22-18 before Holy Family captured the last three rallies. Set 2 was even at 12-12 but the hosts then inched away for a 20-15 lead on their way to the 2-0 match lead.

Similarly, with Set 3 tied, 9-9, the Tigers won five consecutive points and never looked back. Holy Family (7-6, 4-0) posted a .433 team attack percentage for the set and .293 for the match.

Sophomore Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa.) amassed 21 kills, six digs and three aces for Holy Family. The Tigers survived 11 services errors, in part by producing 10 aces while only allowing one. HFU setter Kacie Brien (Turnersville, N.J.) had 40 assists.

Freshman Lauren Mack (Valparaiso, Ind.) topped the Felician defense with 11 digs.

Felician returns home to and plays Dominican (N.Y.) College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
