Felician Suffers Road Women's Soccer Loss To Lightning

WILMINGTON, Del. – Goldey-Beacom College registered a 7-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over visiting Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field. Sophomore Carlie Koziol (East Rutherford, N.J.) netted the lone goal for Felician.

Senior forward Taylor Owen (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded two goals and two assists for Goldey-Beacom (7-6, 5-4 CACC).

Owen scored twice in a span of 76 seconds midway through the first half to allow the Lightning to carry a 2-0 advantage into halftime. When a long Owen through-ball set up freshman teammate Lexi Coppola (Turnersville, N.J.) during the 54th minute, GBC was in full control.

Felician (1-12, 0-8) sliced into its deficit with 27:48 to play in regulation time, with a Katinka Ummels (Urmond, Netherlands/Graaf Huyn College) cross helping Koziol to her second goal of the season. But Goldey-Beacom finished strong, putting four goals on the scoreboard during the match's final 16 minutes.

Coppola totaled two goals and one assist and Lightning junior forward Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, Del.) collected a goal and two assists. GBC owned advantages of 20-9 in shots and 6-1 in corner kicks. Owen topped all individuals with six shot attempts.

Felician concludes its home schedule on Tuesday, when it entertains Bloomfield College at 1 p.m. in Lyndhurst, N.J.
