Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University was defeated by Holy Family University 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-19) in a Saturday afternoon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball game at Job Gymnasium.
Felician (1-18, 1-8 CACC) kept it head-to-head in the first set when it was tied at 16, but a Golden Falcons' service error for the 17th point helped Holy Family ultimately come out with the set win. Holy Family (10-9, 8-0 CACC) outside hitter Allyssa Hartney recorded four of her 12 kills in this set to lead the way. Felician's Hannah Chiswick (Pittstown, N.J.) led her team totalling 15 kills, recording five of them in this first set.
In thesecond set, Felician was keeping up with Holy Family, but a host attacking error is what pushed the Tigers ahead. Holy Family senior, Skylar Osenkarski, and freshman, Isabella Mosquera, tallied three kills each in this set, Osenkarski tallied eight for the day and Mosquera had nine. Felician freshman, Sara Betts (Goodyear, Ariz.), recorded two of her seven kills in the second set.
Setter Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) tallied two kills, 23 assists and eight digs overall, but wasn't enough to help propel Felician over its opponents for a third set win. Holy Family setter Morgan Steck had two kills, 32 assists and seven digs. Golden Falcons' middle hitter Catherine Lentsch (Elkhorn, Neb.) finished with four kills, two digs and libero Natalie Kashian (Secaucus, N.J.) finished with four assists and 13 digs.
The women's volleyball team travels to New York on Wednesday to face CACC opponent Alliance University in a 7p.m game.
