Box Score NEW YORK, NY- The Felician Women's Volleyball Team (2-18/2-8 CACC) defeated Alliance University 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-10) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up Wednesday night on the road in New York.
In the first set, Felician was overran by Alliance (2-19/0-10 CACC) as they dropped 25-18. Alliance recorded 16 kills of 36 attacks and Felician was only able to notch 7 kills on 31 attacks. In the match-up, Alliance members Rayah Burge (13 kills), Natalie Piper (12 kills) and Ayisha Adekanmbi (10 kills) made up the offense that was able to keep the score neck and neck until the 4th set.
The second set, the Golden Falcons fought back to tie up the match, 1-1, with a 25-22 win. They kept up the pace to run away with the 3rd and 4th set win to secure the match, 3-1, for their second win of the season, both overall and in the CACC.
For the Golden Falcons, Hannah Chiswick (Pittstown, NJ) led the offense with 18 kills on 48 total attacks (.250), Catherine Lentsch (Elkhorn, Neb.) had 9 kills on 20 attacks (.400), Sara Betts (Goodyear, AZ) also had 9 kills, but on 30 attacks (.133), and Cailey Jones (Bel Air, MD) had 8 kills on 17 attacks (.294).
Defensively, Natalie Kashian (Secaucus, NJ) had 23 digs, while Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, NM) had 20. Jones and Betts defended the net for the Golden Falcons with 6 Jones blocks and 4 Betts.
The women's volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow night to host Bloomfield for a CACC match-up at 7pm at Jobs Gymnasium.
