BRIDGEPORT, CT-  Felician women's volleyball team (2-21 / 2-11 CACC) falls short of Bridgeport , 3-0 (23-25, 14-25, 18-25), in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up Wednesday night at Hubble Gym.

The Golden Falcons hung tight in the first set, but suffered a 2-point deficit loss, 23-25. Sara Betts (Goodyear, AZ) and Cailey Jones (Bel Air, MD) recorded a kill each followed by 2 Purple Knights attack errors to start the first set, 4-0. Felician was the leader on the scoreboard until a Bridgeport service ace tied it up at 22. Another Betts kill allowed the Golden Falcons to stay alive, but an opposing attack by Marissa Mullins put the first set to rest in favor of the Purple Knights.

The second set saw Bridgeport rally on 4 separate occasions to close out the second with a comfortable 25-14 finish. Felician tried to edge the Purple Knights in the third from a Mariam Kromah (Willingboro, NJ) kill and 2 more Betts kills, but it wasn't enough to clinch the third set win as they dropped 25-18 to finish the match, 3-0.

Bridgeport (10-16 / 9-5 CACC) was led by Mullins who tallied 12 kills on 20 attacks (.550) and Paola Hernandez with 11 kills on 27 attacks (.296) and 16 digs. Felician freshman, Betts, recorded 13 kills on 35 attacks (.200) and senior Hannah Chiswick (Pittstown, NJ) had 7 kills on 23 attacks (.130).

The women's volleyball team will be back in action this Saturday for its senior day as they host Chestnut Hill at 12pm at Job Gymnasium.
